The tourists are given a chance to row the boats. When you reach Champakulam you get the opportunity to visit Kalloorkode St.Mary's Forane Church which was constructed way back in the beginning of the fifth century . You will be able to see the age-old sculpture and paintings (most of them done with paints obtained from the juices of natural leaves, In this historic church you will get an opportunity to see country boats right from those which have hundred and twenty-five rowers down to very tiny ones which can just accommodate one person as rower as well as passenger. You also get an opportunity to see the 'Champakulam vallam" which is considered the king among snake boats. After this you are privileged to attend a show through Home Theater which will gives you a detailed and vivid visual and audio account of the Mass Drill and final of Nehru Trophy boat race which is considered the Olympics among international boat races. This show will give you an almost exact visual replica of the world famous Nehru Trophy boat race. |
